Software/System Engineer (entry/mid-level position)

Based in Irvine, CA, CLR Analytics Inc. is dedicated to providing innovative transportation and traffic engineering solutions using emerging technologies. 

We are currently developing our smart transportation infrastucture products involving the collection of data from various sensors in the field, transmission of data to central server, performing central data analytics, and visualing data through web interface. We are looking for anexceptional and talented system engineer and/or software engineer who is strong with software developmentand is willing to grow with us as we continue to expand.

The role will involve data analysis, system evaluation and programming.  The applicant is expected to have strong mathematical skill and programming experience and come from an academic background in electronic engineering, computer sceience, transportation engineering, applied mathematics or related discipline.

Primary Responsibilities:

You will participate in all aspects of system development and maintenance to bring our innovative IoT products to market.​  The successful candidate will:

·         Design/run field trials and analyze/monitor data to produce informative results

·         Deliver intelligence from analysis of datasets and automate manual processes

·         Develop and extending algorithms and maintain a robust code-base

·         Work on conceptualization, design, prototyping, testing, system analysis, implementation, and documentation

·         Manage product development risk to deliver high quality results on time

·         Create reports and presentations for review

·         Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment

·         Support various projects to meet business needs

Qualifications:

·         A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline

·         Familiar with machine learning and developing ILS technologies/applications highly desired

·         Strong mathematical skills and an interest in applying them to solve problems

·         Experience of computer programming with a rigorous engineering attitude and a commitment to quality

·         Highly-motivated self-starter with a passion for new technologies and a proven track record in delivering high quality solutions to problems

·         Ability to take initiative to identify and solve system level issues with a minimum of direction

·         Strong problem solving abilities and strong critical thinking

·         Good writing skills, attention to detail, and creativity

·         2+​ years of experience in R&D or product design preferred

·         Experience and knowledge of C/C++/C# and embedded software development under Linux and Windows

·         Experience and knowledge of hardware development and testing and 

·         Experience and knowledge of SQL, MYSQL (MariaDB), scheduled service programming under MySQL Workbench

·         Experience and knowledge of database management for big data and database optimization

·         Experience and knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Jquery, JSP, Tomcat, Spring MVC, Google/Openstreet Map API, Leaflet, AJAX, Bootstrap

·         Proficient in MS Office suite
